Better lighting

I am always amazed how lighting affects the feel of one's home. My kitchen has such a warm and inviting feel just by adding lighting above the cabinets...the master bath now has sconces with a dimmer.
New lighting was added in my workspace, much less strain on the eyes...

  1. in the process of buying my home I learned the wiring for dishwasher, disposal, and an outlet were a nasty snafu of disater waiting to happen.
AND a bird's nest in the fireplace flu!!! Would the whole place go up in flames and simultaneously be flooded if these had not been noted/fixed by my electrician?

  3. I am interested in lighting for a deck + pool....I have seen lighting in pools along inside the rim where is changes color, continually running through a prism so to speak. Is this costly 1) to install 2) to maintain 3) is there energy savings product choices available?

  4. Are motion sensors in my home going to help lower my bill? I move back and forth thru different areas of the house and it doesnt seem energy-savings effective to have lights on for 5 min, off for 10, back on, off etc....it seems it would be more energy efficient to leave the light ON for 3-4 hours than a continual on/off of the same duration
